Cue the outrage: The Celtics were leapfrogged by the Heat -- a team they beat on opening night -- in the latest edition of ESPN's NBA Power Rankings. Curator Marc Stein writes, "Miami, meanwhile, has nudged past Boston into the No. 2 slot, despite what happened on opening night on the Celtics' floor, because the Heat have been so impressive in their three games since … including Friday's dismantling of visiting Orlando." While most NBA observers will be hard-pressed to argue, it should spark the usual disbelief among some. Those that complain should remember the Celtics lost to the No. 22-ranked Cavaliers.

On the Celtics, Stein writes: "I'm always whining to any coach, GM or scout who puts up with it that PGs today don't know how to pass. So I won't dwell on the L in Cleveland because I want to keep the focus fully on Rondo's glorious dimeage."
