It's not confirmation that he'll play, but an encouraging sign nevertheless as the Celtics confirmed that Shaquille O'Neal traveled with the team Saturday afternoon to Oklahoma City in advance of Sunday night's game against the Thunder.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers had suggested O'Neal might not travel on this four-game road trip due to a bruised right knee that's kept him out of action for the past week, including three straight games.

His traveling seems to indicate that the team thinks he might be able to get back on the floor during this trip, which visits Oklahoma City, Dallas, Miami, and Memphis.

Not traveling with the team Saturday were Delonte West (suspension), Avery Bradley (ankle), and Kendrick Perkins (knee). The Celtics remain thin on depth with only 12 active bodies and that number will drop if Shaq is not able to suit up. Boston played with only 11 teams with Shaq active, but not dressing for Friday's game against the Bulls.
