Celtics coach Doc Rivers might have been hesitant to offer firm timelines on the return of the O'Neals -- Shaq and Jermaine -- before Wednesday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, but the return schedule is becoming a bit clearer in the aftermath.
A team source told ESPN Boston's Peter May that Shaquille O'Neal, who has been sidelined since Feb. 1 due to right foot injuries, is on track for a return no later than April 1. May writes, "That would give him two weeks to get reacquainted with the teammates he left -- and acquainted with the five new teammates with whom he has yet to play."
Appearing on Boston sports radio WEEI (850 AM) on Thursday morning, Rivers revealed that Jermaine O'Neal is scheduled to rejoin his Boston teammates in Indianapolis on Monday. "Jermaine will join us in Indiana, I can give you that," said Rivers. "That doesn't mean he's going to play, but he will join us in Indiana. [Celtics president of basketball operations] Danny [Ainge] went down to look at him and I guess he looks great. That's a good thing."
