The Boston Celtics officially announced Saturday that they have re-signed forward Jeff Green. Terms were not disclosed, but a source close to the situation told ESPN.com's Chris Broussard that it's a one-year, $9 million pact.
“It is great to have Jeff back with us,” Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. “We love the versatility that he brings to our roster and we think he will be an important part of the success that this team will have this season.”
The 25-year-old Green averaged 13.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 32.4 minutes per game last season split between Boston and Oklahoma City. With the new deal, Green will earn more than twice what he did last season ($4.45 million) and will be able to test unrestricted free agency this summer.
