BOSTON -- Fresh off a Game 5 victory that puts them in position to close out the Philadelphia 76ers in an Eastern Conference semifinal series, the Boston Celtics will stick with their postseason plan and stay off the court Tuesday afternoon to promote recovery in advance of Wednesday's Game 6 at Wells Fargo Center.

The Celtics were scheduled for an afternoon flight to Philadelphia and Celtics coach Doc Rivers knows the 76ers will be a dangerous team hoping to force a deciding game back in Boston on Saturday.

“Well it’s not going to be easy. Listen, this series is hard," said Rivers. "They’re a good team, they’re an athletic team. Every minute you think, like, we’re leaking oil, physically. So we’ve got a quick turnaround here and we’re going to have to be ready. But I just want us to play the right way ever minute, and if we do that, I don’t know if we’ll win or not, but we’ll be good.”

Rivers acknowledged that it's been impossible for teams to sustain momentum in this series.

“No, not on either side," said Rivers. "It’s just been one of those series. It would be nice to win two in a row, that would be terrific."

Rivers did note that a rare two-day break might have aided his team's energy level in the second half of Game 5. But he also knows that luxury might not exist again in this postseason (the Celtics would get a couple days off before a potential Game 7, but the conference finals are staggered with games every other day).

“Well, we’re going to have to (put the rest out of our head)," said Rivers. "Like, again, we don’t have the luxury to practice (Tuesday). We couldn’t if we wanted to. So it’s just what we’ve gone through. The good thing for this group, honestly, we’ve done this all year. We’ve kind of been a makeshift group all year. And so it’s not a distraction, I will tell you that. Our guys, they’re very professional about it. We’ll go to shootaround (on Wednesday morning) and work on some stuff, and then go play a game.”
