MIAMI -- Celtics coach Doc Rivers and Heat coach Erik Spoelstra talked for little more than three minutes before Wednesday's Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals, answering a total of five questions. The message was clear: Talk's done, it's time for some basketball.

Even with only one day off between games, it's clear both coaches and players (and reporters) were tired of the storylines that have dominated the headlines the last 48 hours. It's time to create some new ones.

Celtics guard Ray Allen is in the starting lineup for Boston, this after Rivers toyed with the idea of resting Allen to allow painful bone spurs in his right ankle to calm. Instead, Allen pushed himself through an early-morning shooting routine at AmericanAirlines Arena before his teammates even arrived for the team's shootaround. Rivers didn't even ask the training staff if Allen was ready to go.

"I don't check at all, I assume that if he wasn't (healthy), someone would tell me," Rivers said. "I don’t even ask how he shot the ball or anything. He’s good."

After Rivers' press conference ended quickly, he stared out at reporters and quipped, "I love you guys. Thank you."

Spoelstra spoke for a mere 45 seconds, answering one question about Chris Bosh, who won't dress for Game 2.

"I actually just watched (Bosh's) workout about an hour ago," said Spoelstra. "It's the same workout as before. I didn't need to watch it -- it hasn't gotten to that point -- (but) I wanted to show him some support and see how much he's progressing. It's the same (workout) as before; it's more rehab-oriented. While (assistant) Keith (Askins) is doing some basketball drills, it's more Rey Jaffet, our trainer and physical therapist doing the work."
