After three straight days of practice, Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers called a late audible and cancelled Saturday's session, giving his players a final day off before the regular season opens Tuesday in Miami.

Players came into the team's facility for treatment and light shooting, but Rivers scrapped the late-morning session. The Celtics engaged in three lengthy practices this week and also had the team's annual Shamrock Foundation Gala on Friday night at TD Garden.

The Celtics will be back on Causeway St. on Sunday for the annual open practice for season-ticket holders. With Hurricane Sandy approaching, Boston will fly early to Miami on Sunday evening and practice there on Monday.

The Celtics and Heat tip off the 2012-13 NBA season on Tuesday night at AmericanAirlines Arena.
