C's formally announce signing of Varnado
Varnado will wear jersey No. 41.
Here's his bio courtesy of the Celtics' official release: "Varnado, a 6-9 forward, appeared in 10 games for the Sioux Falls SkyForce of the NBA Development League this season averaging 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and an NBADL high 3.9 blocks in 30.5 minutes per game. Varnado was originally drafted by the Miami Heat with the 41st pick in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft out of Mississippi State. Varnado left Mississippi State as the NCAA’s all-time leader in blocked shots. He has played overseas in Europe with Carmatic Pistoia of the Italian second division, Hapoel Jerusalem B.C. in Israel and Pallancestro Virtus Roma of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A."
