ESPN's Stephen A. Smith talked Monday on “SportsCenter” (video above) about the fact that Doc Rivers has not confirmed whether he will return as the head coach of the Boston Celtics.
While he’s hearing Rivers is “strongly considering and leaning toward staying,” it’s no slam dunk.
“You work with somebody all the time, it gets to a point where sometimes you’re tired of hearing the same voice and tired of seeing the same faces,” Smith said. “When it comes to Danny Ainge with Doc Rivers, that very well may be the case. Doc hasn’t told me that, but those are the kinds of things I’ve been hearing since they were eliminated in the first round."
