Celtics: #12

(This story appears in ESPN The Magazine's Oct. 28 NBA Preview)

THE CELTICS haven't been this green since 2006. Losing Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce left them with just one above-average player -- Rajon Rondo -- and he's coming off ACL surgery. Last season's sixth-ranked defense should fall sharply with Kris Humphries ('12-13 DRtg of 105) now the "anchor." Only the Suns and Sixers project to struggle more on offense. To echo ex-coach Rick Pitino: Andrew Wiggins had better be walking through that door.

(2013-14 Insider forecast: Boston Celtics)
