BOSTON -- Boston Celtics guard Jerryd Bayless suffered a right knee sprain in the fourth quarter of Friday's game against the Charlotte Bobcats and did not return.

Bayless limped off to the locker room with just under eight minutes to play in the game and was followed by team physician Dr. Bryan McKeon.

Bayless finished with two points, but missed all four shots he took over 18 minutes.

The Celtics were already playing with a thin backcourt without starting point guard Rajon Rondo, who was a late scratch with a bruised left shin.
