ESPN's national Summer Forecast rolls on Wednesday with a look at the candidates for Rookie of the Year. The ESPN Forecast team was asked to rank its top three choices with a first-place vote receiving 5 points, a second-place vote receiving 3 and a third-place vote receiving 1.

Boston Celtics rookie guard Marcus Smart, the sixth overall pick in June's draft, spotted seventh in the voting while totaling 18 points. Those ahead of him included Chicago's Doug McDermott, Los Angeles' Julius Randle, Utah's Dante Exum, Philadelphia's Nerlens Noel (who sat out last season), Cleveland's (err, Minnesota's?) Andrew Wiggins, and Milwaukee's Jabari Parker.
