Video: Green's long road back
By Chris Forsberg
Jeff Green talks about missing the 2011-2012 season after having surgery for an aortic aneurysm and silencing doubters by returning to the court.
"I didn't know if I was ever going to play again, I didn't know if I was going to make the surgery, I didn't know if I was ever going to see my family again... it was a big blow," he said of hearing the doctor's diagnosis.
Coach Doc Rivers and Celtics president Danny Ainge discuss Green's pain and frustration, and his doctors weigh in on the seriousness of his condition.
"When we got in there his tissues were paper-thin," said Dr. Lars Svensson, cardiac surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. "...The tissues were really fragile and he really, I think, was very lucky."
