Celtics guard Rajon Rondo and center Kevin Garnett were announced as Eastern Conference starters for the 2013 All-Star Game next month in Houston.
Rondo -- second in East backcourt -- and Garnett -- third in East frontcourt -- will start alongside Miami's LeBron James and Dwyane Wade and New York's Carmelo Anthony.
For Rondo, it's his fourth consecutive All-Star appearance and first as a fan-voted starter. Hop HERE for more on his thoughts on the nod from earlier today.
For Garnett, it's the 15th All-Star appearance. He had appeared in 12 straight games before not getting the invite last year. At age 36, Garnett is back in the All-Star game and said Wednesday he was "gracious" for the opportunity. Hop HERE for more on Garnett's thoughts from Wednesday.
As for potentially locking horns Anthony after their bus-side dust-up in New York earlier this month, Garnett downplayed it all Wednesday.
"You have time to plan for it and, you know with All-Star, if you've been there before you know that when you come there, it's to come together as a conference and actually have guys into it, enjoy it," said Garnett. "So you take a back seat to all the competitive juices. Obviously, after the game you kind of turn it back on. But other than that, you set aside all the things that go on throughout an 82[-game season] and come in and try to enjoy each other for three or four days."
