Brooks, Joseph in package from Nets
As the dust settled after the NBA draft, the Celtics-Nets blockbuster morphed slightly with Brooklyn now set to send old friends MarShon Brooks and Kris Joseph to Boston instead of Reggie Evans and Tornike Shengelia. Hop HERE for the latest on the deal.
A look at the swap as it currently stands (it cannot be consummated until after the moratorium lifts on the league's new calendar year on July 10):
If you're the Celtics, you have to like the swap. While Evans is a rebounding machine and the sort of tough guy that you'd love to have as a role player on a contending team, Boston instead gets a 24-year-old scorer (who they originally drafted for Brooklyn in a 2011 draft-night swap) who is under the team's control for three more seasons based on his rookie deal. Joseph, of course, was a second-round pick by Boston last season, but was waived before contracts went fully guaranteed in January.
