The Boston Celtics crawled up one spot to No. 26 in this week's ESPN.com NBA Power Rankings.

Writes curator Marc Stein: "The Celts are 3-1 in February -- after a two-win January -- heading into Monday night's eminently winnable game in Milwaukee. Better yet: While Rajon Rondo continues to work his way back to top form, Jared Sullinger has suddenly averaged 21.2 PPG and 13.4 RPG in his last five games."

The Celtics held firm at No. 4 in ESPN Insider's Tank Rank.

A snippet from curator Chad Ford: "What probably should concern fans is the improved play of Rajon Rondo, who is averaging 14 points, 11 assists and 7.7 rebounds in his past three games while shooting 61 percent from the field. Maybe it's not too late for the Celtics to sell high!"

Power Rankings: C's drop to No. 27

The Boston Celtics dropped a spot to No. 27 in this week's ESPN.com NBA Power Rankings.

Writes curator Marc Stein: "Not much to see with the Celtics these days beyond fixating on Rajon Rondo's progress. Boston's home win on Super Sunday over Orlando was another step, with Rondo shooting 5-for-7 from outside the paint after entering the game 8-for-32 on such shots since returning from ACL surgery."

The Celtics remain firm at No. 4 in the latest ESPN Insider Tank Rank.

Addressing Boston's trade potential, curator Chad Ford writes, " If the Celtics get a great offer for Rondo -- he's going to have to start playing more like he did on Sunday versus the Magic (19 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds) -- I believe he will be traded. If they can't get a great offer for him, anything and everything else is on the table -- Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, young guys such as Kelly Olynyk, even their lottery pick. But as always [Danny] Ainge is going to drive a hard bargain."

Tank Rank: C's steady at No. 4

The Boston Celtics held firm at No. 4 in this week's ESPN Insider Tank Rank.

A snippet from curator Chad Ford: "While Rondo and the Celtics are talking publicly about him being with the team for the long haul, anyone who knows Danny Ainge knows that if the right deal comes his way, anything is on the table, including Rondo and this year's draft pick. Ainge has always been about maximizing assets. If an offer for Rondo helps him get a coveted asset, he'll do it. If an offer for the lottery pick blows him away, he'll do that, too."

Tank Rank: C's climb to No. 4

The Boston Celtics shuffled up three spots to No. 4 in ESPN Insider's Tank Rank.

A snippet from curator Chad Ford: "All three of the teams ahead of [the Celtics] have at least one young player they can conceivably build around. The Celtics? Rajon Rondo could be that building block. But he turns 28 in February, has posed chemistry issues in the past and there is an increasing belief among NBA circles that GM Danny Ainge will use him, once healthy, to get multiple assets back. So the chances that he's the Celtics' cornerstone moving forward look slim. Unless you think Avery Bradley or Jared Sullinger is a savior, the cupboard is pretty bare."

Tank Rank: C's reappear at No. 7

The Boston Celtics disappeared from ESPN Insider's Tank Rank last month. Losers of seven of their last eight, they've reappeared this week at No. 7. From curator Chad Ford:
With Rajon Rondo getting closer to a comeback, the moment of decision for the Celtics is coming. The team is just three games ahead of the Magic and Kings for the second-worst record in the league. They also aren't that far away from winning their division and having home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Yes, the East is that messed up.

At ESPN Insider, Chad Ford is measuring the race for the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA draft. Even on the heels of a 1-3 week, the Boston Celtics shuffle back a spot to No. 6 in this week's rankings.

A snippet from Ford: "Given how bad the rest of the East is, the Celtics might be able to still compete for a playoff spot. But is that the long-term play here? Ainge says the team has no intention of trading Rondo. But I can't find another GM in the league who believes him."

Tank Rank: C's steady at No. 5

ESPN Insider is tracking the teams trying hardest to land at the top of the draft this season in Tank Rank. The Boston Celtics hold steady at No. 5 this week despite losing their last three games.

A snippet from curator Chad Ford: "Danny Ainge continues to scoff at the idea that the Celtics are tanking and took it a step further this week by saying he isn't sure the draft is as good as we are making it out to be. Maybe. With the possible exception of Jared Sullinger (21.3 PER this season coming off the bench) who on this team could he or coach Brad Stevens possibly be that excited about going forward?"

Insider: C's down to 5th in Tank Rank

ESPN Insider is tracking the teams trying hardest (or least, depending on your perspective) to earn a high draft pick. In this week's Tank Rank, the Boston Celtics slide to No. 5 after owning the top spot last week.

A small snippet from Insider's Chad Ford: "The Celtics have a pretty soft schedule this week with home games against the Magic, Bobcats and Blazers, so it's not inconceivable that they'll be a .500 by next Monday... if veterans like Jeff Green keep performing well, they could be on the trading block soon while their stock is still high."
