Forty-one years ago today, Bob Cousy set an NBA record with 28 assists in Boston's 173-139 win over Minneapolis, the highest scoring game in NBA history to that date (in fact, the Celtics' 173 points remains the record for a non-overtime game, but was matched by the Phoenix Suns in 1990).

Cousy's record stood for more than 31 years before Orlando's Scott Skiles handed out 30 assists on Dec. 30, 1990. Cousy's record of 19 assists in one half remains an NBA record.
