The Boston Celtics took to social media Thursday to trumpet the impending return of Rajon Rondo, posting two pictures to the team's Instagram account in advance of Friday's visit from the Los Angeles Lakers. The first shows Rondo and a reference to his Tweet earlier this week hinting at a Friday return, the second features a close-up of Rondo's No. 9 jersey ...

It wouldn't be Celtics training camp if someone didn't break out a football. Last week, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge joked that Rajon Rondo only organized offseason team workouts in Los Angeles because he wanted to play flag football.

But even Ainge couldn't resist the pigskin on Thursday (Getty Images).
