BC point guard Daniels leaves team

Jordan Daniels, a sophomore point guard who started 25 games for Boston College in 2011-12, has left the team and will look to transfer after finishing the academic semester, the school confirmed Thursday.
The 5-foot-8, 153-pound Daniels averaged 6.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 31 games for the Eagles as a freshman. He led the team in assists, with 82.
Daniels played a key role in the Eagles’ biggest win of the season, scoring 21 points in the upset of No. 17 Florida State in early February.
Without Daniels on the roster, coach Steve Donahue is likely to give big minutes at point guard to freshmen Olivier Hanlan and Joe Rahon. Hanlan was ranked No. 23 at his position in the Class of 2012 by ESPN Recruiting.
