Brooks' Connor Mahoney commits to Le Moyne

Brooks School small forward Connor Mahoney verbally committed to Division 2 Le Moyne College on Friday, his AAU coach Mike Crotty Jr. wrote in an email to ESPNBoston.com this weekend.

The 6-foot-5 Hanover native, who transferred into the North Andover campus after his junior year at BC High, had a breakout campaign this summer with Crotty's Middlesex Magic AAU squad. In three consecutive games at AAU Nationals this summer in Orlando, he went off for at least 25 points and 10 rebounds.

“Connor Mahoney is the total package," Crotty wrote in a press release on the Middlesex Magic's website. He is a leader, both vocally and by example, and he has an all-around game that I think will translate beautifully in the NE-10 Conference. Connor is an outstanding shooter, and fantastic defender, and one of the best rebounders I have ever coached.

"However, his understanding of the game and overall basketball IQ might be what separates him the most. Outside of basketball, Connor is one of the best people I have ever had the chance to be around, and I am certain that Le Moyne just received a commitment from a young man that will leave an indelible mark on the school both on and off the court. Connor will always be one of my favorites and I know great things are in store for him in his future."
