Lawrence Academy saw four of its football players commit to Division 1 schools over the summer. Could a fifth be on the horizon?
Dan Giovacchini, the eighth-ranked prospect in the state of Massachusetts, told correspondent Roger Brown this week that while there are no offers yet, the interest from Division 1 schools has picked up quite a bit.
"No offers yet, but there’s heavy Ivy interest and [Boston College] has been persistent about calling and recruiting," the Acton resident told Brown. "My coach [Mike Taylor] told me UConn, Syracuse, UCLA and Stanford really like me, but they need to see more film."
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Giovacchini returned six interceptions for touchdowns last season, as the Spartans went undefeated en route to an ISL championship and NEPSAC Bowl championship. He is projected at outside linebacker at the next level.
