Duxbury's Maimaron is NFHS Coach of the Year

The National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Coaches Association has named Duxbury's Dave Maimaron as its Northeast Sectional Football Coach of the Year, the organization announced today.

The Northeast section includes the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York and New Jersey.

This fall, Maimaron guided the Dragons to their second straight undefeated season, and fourth Eastern Mass. Super Bowl championship in seven seasons, as they extended the state's longest winning streak to 26 games. In his seven seasons at the helm of the Green Dragons' program, the former Everett assistant has compiled a 76-10 record, with five Patriot League titles and Super Bowl championships in 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

Last month, Maimaron was also named the New England Patriots' Coach of the Year, his first such honor. Five of his players were named to ESPN Boston's second annual MIAA All-State Team this past season, more than any other school.
