Peabody girls climb to No. 1 in national poll

October, 4, 2012
In the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) girls' high school soccer national poll, defending MIAA Division 1 state champion Peabody claimed the top spot in the land.

The Tanners, who've held the No. 1 spot in our MIAA Top 20 for more than a calendar year now, sat at No. 2 nationally last week, but were elevated to the top spot in the Oct. 2 poll after opening the season 7-0-0.

New England was well represented in the national poll as well. Exeter (N.H.) High checked in at No. 9 (10-0-0) and Connecticut top team Glastonbury (6-0-0) is at No. 14.

It's also worth mentioning that our MIAA boys' soccer No. 1 Ludlow stands at No. 9 nationally in the boys' poll.
