Video: Tailgating scene in Duxbury

October, 7, 2012
DUXBURY, Mass. -- Duxbury High School is the home of the two-time reigning Eastern Mass. Super Bowl champion Dragons.

It also might be home to the best student tailgating in the Commonwealth. In front of the high school Saturday before our Game of the Week matchup with Xaverian, a group of about 50 students gathered. The scene went far beyond the casual tossing around of the pigskin. Charcoal smoke lingered in the air from a burning grill, the sounds of John Mellencamp spread over the campus and teams competed in games of corn hole.

High Schools editor Scott Barboza caught up with two of the intrepid driving forces behind the scene with grill master Jack Mann and grill maker Evan Tarbox to talk about the culinary secrets behind a successful tailgate.

With the bar set high, we'd like to take the opportunity to ask for your opinion of which high school brings the best pregame atmosphere. Leave your suggestions in the Comments section and we might visit your school next!
