The four-way logjam at the top of the Tri-Valley League football standings has created some intrigue as in the last couple weeks as to which team would end up with the top seed in its in-season playoff tournament.
It was announced yesterday that Holliston (7-1) is the No. 1 seed in the TVL tournament, which starts Saturday. The three-way tie of 7-1 teams in the conference, including the Panthers along with Medway and Norton, was broken by the virtue of points surrendered in the first half of their games. Holliston, having given up the fewest points, is the top seed followed by second-seeded Medway and No. 3 Norton. Westwood, with a 6-2 TVL record, will be seeded fourth.
All of Saturday's games will be played at Westwood, with Medway-Norton kicking off at 4:30 p.m., followed by Holliston-Westwood at 7 p.m.
The winners of those games will play the following Saturday for the TVL title with the highest seeded team hosting the game.
