The MIAA unveiled the seedings for boys and girls soccer today, and they can be found here.
A few notes about the seedings:
-- Madison Park, which won the Boston City championship yesterday, took the No. 1 overall seed in Boys Division 1 North, while Lexington -- ESPNBoston's No. 1 overall team -- comes in at No. 2. Other top seeds in the North include Winchester (ESPNBoston's No. 6 team) and Trinity Catholic. In the South, New Bedford (No. 3) took the top seed in Division 1, while Sandwich (No. 5) and Cardinal Spellman (No. 12) are tops in Divisions 2 and 3, respectively. Two other ESPNBoston Top 10 boys squads, Algonquin Regional and Ludlow, earned the top seeds in Division 1 Central and West, respectively.
-- On the girls' side, Division 1 South may be the toughest bracket. The top four seeds are all ranked in the top 12 of ESPNBoston's girls poll, descending in order from top: Whitman-Hanson (1), Bishop Feehan (2), Oliver Ames (7) and Franklin (12). East Bridgewater and Nantucket earned the top seeds in the South's second and third divisions, respectively. Meanwhile, No. 3 Peabody took the top overall seed in Division 1 North, followed by Belmont in Division 2 and No. 20 Shawsheen Tech in Division 3. Nashoba Regional earned the top seed in Division 1 Central over No. 9 Algonquin, while Minnechaug earned the top seed in Division 1 West.
