Nashoba has named a successor to retiring football head coach Ken Tucker. Chieftains athletic director Tania Rich made the hiring of Jamie Tucker, Ken's son, in a press release sent to local media on Friday.

Here are the details:
The Nashoba Regional High School football program has a new leader. The Athletics Department is very pleased to announce that Jamie Tucker will be our next varsity football coach. Jamie Tucker will replace Ken Tucker, who announced his retirement in January. Tucker was selected after a thorough screening committee interview, being selected as a finalist, and a second in-depth interview.

Tucker, a 2002 graduate of Nashoba and current Physical Education teacher at Hale Middle School in Stow, played quarterback in high school before moving on and playing four years at Assumption College. Mr. Tucker has been part of the Chieftains’ football staff for four seasons. He also spent a season as the quarterback coach at Assumption College.

Tucker’s knowledge of football and passion for Nashoba athletics, coupled with his focus on positive relationships and teaching life lessons through football, will be a great asset to our student-athletes. He will foster a high level of energy with his enthusiasm and continue the rich tradition of Chieftain football.

During the interview process, Jamie demonstrated the qualities that we felt best fit our program. He understands the student-athletes and the program, which will ensure a smooth transition. He has earned the respect of the players during his time as a coordinator with the Nashoba program, and will continue to do so through his effort, dedication, and commitment. Tucker is prepared to accept the challenge of playing in the Midland A league and the new statewide playoff system.

We are excited to have Jamie Tucker in a new role and for him to incorporate his philosophies and style into the Nashoba football program.
