Beverly High Athletic Director James Coffey announced tonight the official hiring of Allison Flynn as the school's new head girls basketball coach.

Flynn comes to Beverly after serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at St. Anselm College, in Manchester, N.H., the last three seasons. Prior to that, she held the same roles for one season at St. Michael's College (Vt.) and Norwich University (Vt.) for two.

A 2001 graduate of Salem High, where she scored 1,400 points, Flynn went on to star at Norwich, where she was a two-year captain and the Great Northeast Conference's Player of the Year for 2006-07. She graduated from Norwich in 2007 with a B.A. in Justice Studies in Sociology.
