Walpole's Matherson commits to BC

August, 8, 2013
Walpole rising senior Brooke Matherson has given a verbal commitment to playing field hockey at Boston College, her father Geoff told ESPN Boston today.

Matherson, a right and center forward, was named Bay State League Player of the Year last year and was a Third-Team NFHCA All-American while posting 50 goals and 16 assists as a junior. For her high school career, Matherson has posted 91-34-125 totals and has been named to the Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic teams.

Also a standout on the Rebels girls’ hockey team, Matherson was a Second-Team ESPN Boston All-State selection last season after leading the team in points (33) as a defenseman, including a team-best 24 goals.
