BC High's Cronin to attend Bowdoin

December, 15, 2013
Former two-time ESPN Boston All-State hockey team goaltender Peter Cronin of BC High has been accepted into Bowdoin College and will join the Polar Bears next season.

After starting for three seasons at BC High, Cronin is currently playing with the South Shore Kings of the United States Premier Hockey League.

Last season with the Eagles, Cronin finished in the top five among Division 1 netminders in both goals against average (1.40) and save percentage (94.6) while starting all 23 games.

"I couldn't be happier to have the opportunity to attend a school like Bowdoin and help contribute to its winning hockey tradition over the next four years," Cronin wrote. "It is an honor to have the privilege of playing for a coach as accomplished as Coach [Terry] Meagher.

"I want to thank coach [John] Flaherty and Coach [Bob] Roche for always believing in me and giving me the chance to become the best goalie I could. They and all my teammates have given me some of the greatest memories a hockey player could ever ask for."
