Billerica lacrosse sophomore midfielder Jeff Trainor has given a verbal commitment to UMass-Amherst, Indians head coach Craig Flynn announced last night.

A Merrimack Valley Conference All-Star as a freshman, Trainor scored 18 goals and added 14 assists for the Indians. A multi-talented athlete, he also played point guard for Billerica's varsity basketball team and was an All-Conference soccer player as a freshman before taking up football in the fall.

In his first season of football, Trainor played wide receiver and hauled in 13 touchdown passes while garnering first-team All-MVC honors.

"Jeff Trainor is a hard-working, multi-talented athlete with unlimited potential," Flynn told ESPN Boston. "We are proud of his accomplishments and look forward to his continuos improvement as a student athlete the next two and a half years at Billerica High."
