MLK Invitational schedule set for Sunday

In celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF), the Boston Scholar Athletes (BSA) and the Boston Public Schools, will host the inaugural MLK Invitational basketball showcase on Sunday, Jan. 19, at the Wentworth Institute of Technology.

These games will bring together basketball’s best from the Boston City League and surrounding area high schools to compete in this inaugural showcase. Competing teams from the Boston City League will also be partnering with the Roslindale, Jackson Mann, and Tobin BCYF Community Centers to work with their members on educational projects related to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. New Mission High School will be at the Roslindale Community Center on Monday, Jan. 20, at 3:30 p.m. to take part in these projects. On Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 4 p.m., Brighton High School will be at Jackson Mann Community Center and Fenway High School will be at the Tobin Community Center.

Sunday's matchups are as follows:



Noon - New Mission vs. St. Mary's (Lynn) - GIRLS
2 p.m. - Fenway vs. Westford Academy - GIRLS
5 p.m. - New Mission vs. Walpole
7 p.m. - Brighton vs. Catholic Memorial
