Matignon hires DeAngelo as baseball coach

Matignon High officially announced today the hiring of Framingham State coach John DeAngelo as its new varsity baseball coach.

CAMBRIDGE – Matignon High School has announced John DeAngelo as its next Head Coach for Varsity Baseball.

DeAngelo most recently coached in the Framingham State University baseball program under Head Coach Brian Blumsack. DeAngelo also coached at Malden Catholic High School and Masconomet Regional High School. DeAngelo played collegiate baseball at Salem State University where he compiled a .333 career batting average and was a member of the MASCAC Baseball All Academic Team. DeAngelo obtained a BS and a Master’s Degree from Salem State University and is a teacher in the Waltham Public Schools System.

“Matignon is a special place with a wonderful tradition of excellence. I am honored to have the opportunity to coach these fine young men as we pursue our goal of achieving perennial baseball dominance”, says DeAngleo.

DeAngelo, a Malden native, was a two sport athlete in soccer and baseball in high school and batted .450 during the course of his four years. DeAngelo also currently serves as a hitting instructor at Extra Innings. DeAngelo has played in the Intercity Baseball League, an elite wood bat league in New England, for Gately Athletics.
