St. Mary's (Lynn) hockey senior defenseman Tatiana Doucette has committed to the University of Southern Maine, Spartans head coach Frank Pagliuca told ESPN Boston today.

Doucette, a preseason ESPN Boston All-State selection, has two goals and seven assists in 19 games this season.

"Tatiana is one of the elite defenseman in the state," Pagliuca said. "She continues to improve in all phases of her game and has yet to reach her full potential. She had multiple options in terms of schools for next year. Tatiana felt that USM gave her the fit to grow academically and on the ice. I could not be more proud of her. She continues the long line of SMH players that will have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level."
