Snapshot: Rowdy crowds kick off first round

February, 26, 2014
The Massachusetts landscape was littered with some creative and colorful fans in tonight's MIAA basketball tournament first round action. Here are the best tweets from tonight:

We'll start at Lynn English, where there was a prom proposal at halftime:

Next up is Cardinal Spellman, which brought a USA-themed crowd to Rockland tonight for the Cardinals' first-round win over Hanover. (And as several of my Twitter followers pointed out, just what the heck WAS Macklemore doing at a high school game?)

Gotta love the energy here from Everett's Lubern Figaro:

Billerica ended up losing a heartbreaker at Andover, surrendering a 10-point lead in the final three minutes, but the Indians brought a pretty sizeable crowd to the notoriously hostile Dunn Gymnasium:

OK, this one's hockey, but if you saw last night's Super 8 play-in game, this is worth mentioning:

The traditionally navy blue-clad Rockland fans went with all purple tonight:

Best of the rest:
