St. Mary's (Lynn) hockey senior goaltender Lauren Skinnion has committed to Trinity College, Spartans head coach Frank Pagliuca told ESPN Boston, Monday.

The Boxford resident backstopped the Spartans to a Division 1 state championship in 2012-13 and was 10-6-0 with a 1.42 goals against average, 94 save percentage and six shutouts in her senior season.

"Lauren exemplifies the definition of a student-athlete," Pagliuca said. "She had a tremendous career on the ice at St. Mary's. She was one of the key components to the team's success over the past couple years.

"In addition, Lauren excelled in the classroom, as a top 10 student in her grade. The combination of those factors allowed Lauren to pursue a variety of college options. I believe Trinity is a great fit for her academically and athletically."
