Hopkinton's Karjel commits to St. Bonaventure

Hopkinton softball junior pitcher and shortstop Alissa Karjel has given a verbal commitment to St. Bonaventure, her father and Hillers athletic director Eric Karjel told ESPN Boston today.

The reigning Tri-Valley League Most Valuable Player, Karjel led the Hillers to their third straight league title this season, while hitting .500 with a league-leading five home runs and 21 RBI. In the circle, Karjel is 11-3 with a 0.73 earned run average this season and holds a 35-8 career record.

Karjel is expected to contribute to the Bonnies’ infield as well as their pitching staff.
