Milton Academy's Yoon commits to Notre Dame

June, 27, 2014
Milton Academy rising senior placekicker Justin Yoon gave his college commitment to Notre Dame earlier this week.

Yoon connected on 9 of 13 field goal attempts last season and more than 80 percent of his kickoffs went for touchbacks -- with many of those unreturnable through the back of the end zone.

The Nashville, Tennesee resident was ranked as the top kicker in the Class of 2015 by multiple ranking services.

"He's just got more distance now," Mustangs head coach Kevin MacDonald said. "He's one of these kids that works every single day on it and he works so hard. It's really just been increasing distance for him. He's always been pretty accurate."

Yoon visited Stanford and Northwestern in addition to Notre Dame before making his decision. Yoon visited the South Bend campus twice before his commitment.

"Starting at the 20 [on defense] is almost an automatic with Justin," MacDonald said. "We've got one more year to enjoy with that before it's over."
