With a 13-2 win over Braintree this afternoon, the No. 2 Wellesley Raiders have clinched the Bay State Conference's Herget division outright.
Charlie Jennings led all scorers with four goals and an assist, while Penn State-bound junior goalie Connor Darcey needed just four saves to pitch a shutout before getting pulled in the second half.
This marks the first Herget title for the Raiders since 2007, when they split it with Walpole. The Raiders last won it outright in 2006. With this year's title, they also snap Walpole's three-year streak of outright Herget titles.
"I am incredibly proud of this team, and the effort they've put forth this season," Wellesley head coach Rocky Batty said in an email. "Winning the league is a terrific accomplishment."
