ESPN's Roger Brown checks in today on his recruiting blog with Masuk (Conn.) quarterback Casey Cochran, who was offered a scholarship by Boston College a year ago by an coach that has since moved on from the program.

Where the Eagles stand with Cochran -- considered one of New England's top prospects, and an ESPNU 150 Watch List candidate earlier this year -- figure to be made a lot clearer by the end of today.

Brown writes:

Quarterback Casey Cochran (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) will likely find out where he stands with Boston College after he attends the BC camp on Friday.

Cochran received an offer from BC last year, but that offer came from former offensive coordinator Gary Tranquill, who has since retired and been replaced by Kevin Rogers.

"I'm sure a lot will depend on how he performs Friday," Jack Cochran, Casey's father, said.

Cochran led Masuk to a 13-0 record and the Class L state championship last season, when he was named Connecticut's Gatorade Player of the Year. He completed 200 of 295 pass attempts for 3,345 yards and 40 touchdowns.

Cochran, who is on pace to graduate in January of 2012, led New London High School to Connecticut's Class SS championship during his freshman season, and then transferred to Masuk.
