Buckingham, Browne & Nichols outfielder Rhett Wiseman has been selected to the Perfect Game All-American Classic, to be played on August 14 at Petco Park in San Diego, and broadcast live on CBS Sports starting at 8 p.m. EST.
Wiseman, a Mansfield resident, was the only New Englander selected to the East squad. Formerly called the Aflac All-American Classic, last year's installment feature two Massachusetts high schoolers and 2011 draft picks, Lawrence Academy's Tyler Beede (21st overall, Toronto Blue Jays) and Dexter's John Magliozzi (35th round, Tampa Bay Rays).
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound, Vanderbilt-bound Wiseman was an integral part of the Knights' season, which ended at 15-7 and saw lefty starter Andrew Chin get selected in the fifth round by the Toronto Blue Jays in last month's MLB Draft.
