Barnstable QB Crook lands first offer
ESPN's Roger Brown is reporting that Barnstable High senior quarterback D.J. Crook picked up his first scholarship offer, from Holy Cross, the day before Thanksgiving. Holy Cross coach Tom Gilmore spent two hours at Crook's house Sunday, and Crook said he will take an official visit to the Worcester campus later this month.
Crook missed four games with a fractured right thumb this season, but completed 10 of 14 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-15 victory over Falmouth on Thanksgiving.
This season, Crook has completed 95 of 159 passes for 1,233 yards and 12 touchdowns. His 76 career touchdown passes rank fifth in state history, and second among active players (Everett's Jonathan DiBiaso currenty has 101).
