The 6-foot-2, 290-pound Hurst, a Canton resident, is widely considered the state's top college prospect on the defensive side of the ball. He is ranked the No. 34 overall defensive tackle prospect in the nation by ESPN, as well as the No. 2 overall prospect in Massachusetts.
Last fall, Hurst was named to ESPN Boston's MIAA All-State Team as a defensive lineman after finishing the season with 61 tackles, including 13.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He also racked up 200 yards rushing in a win over St. John's of Shrewsbury, including a memorable 75-yard touchdown run.
