Eiserman leads locals on U.S. U-18 roster
By Scott Barboza
The United States National Team Development Program today announced the roster for its 2012-13 U-18 squad, which plays against USHL competition as well as a slate of international tournaments. This year's roster again has a strong New England presence.
Former St. John's Prep standout Shane Eiserman, who played last year at Cushing Academy, is on the roster and is the only New England to have not played with the U.S. NTDP's U-17 team last year to make the squad. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound West Newbury native is committed to UNH.
The other players with regional roots making the roster are goaltender Curtis Frye of Northwood, N.H. and forwards John Hayden of Greenwich, Conn. and Tyler Kelleher of Longmeadow. Kelleher led the Lancers to an MIAA state title as a freshman.
The U.S. NTDP U-17 team also has a couple of homegrown talents on its roster with former Kimball Union standout Jonathan MacLeod (Dracut native) and Jack Eichel (Boston Jr. Bruins - North Chelmsford).
