Newton North girls' soccer enters national rankings

Newton North girls' soccer is the latest local squad breaking the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25 polls this week.

The Tigers made their debut at No. 20 in the girls' poll this week. Exeter (N.H.) remained in the top spot for the third straight week, while ESPN Boston MIAA No. 1 Central Catholic moved up a spot to No. 7 this week.

On the boys' side, ESPN Boston No. 1 New Bedford slipped to No. 12 this week, down four spots from last week.

New England is well represented as well with Greenwich (Conn.) checking at No. 8 this week and Joel Barlow (Conn.) joining the poll at No. 24, representing the Nutmeg State.
