Duncombe is ESPN Boston Lineman of the Year
ESPN Boston and its High Schools section today announced that Plymouth South senior offensive/defensive lineman Shaun Duncombe has been named its Lineman of the Year award winner for 2013.
Plymouth South's Shaun Duncombe is ESPN Boston's Lineman of the Year after paving the way for a second straight 2,000-yard season by his running back.
The Lineman of the Year award winner was chosen by a panel of experts made up of ESPNBoston.com staff and correspondents, as well as analysts from Scouts Inc. Duncombe joins Duxbury’s Gordon Acha (2011) and Everett’s John Montelus (2012) among past recipients in the award's three-year history.
The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder was a three-year starter for the Panthers – Division 3 state finalists this year – and didn’t miss a down during his varsity career. An ESPN Boston All-State selection and Atlantic Coast League All-Star, Duncombe anchored a line which helped All-State running back Dylan Oxsen to consecutive 2,000-yard seasons and a state-best rushing touchdowns record (40) in 2012.
Duncombe has a verbal commitment in place to Bryant University.
