BB&N's Champagnie commits to Bryant
By Brendan C. Hall
Buckingham, Browne & Nichols senior wide receiver Pat Champagnie verbally committed to Bryant University today, according to head coach Mike Willey.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Champagnie was a versatile go-to target this fall for the Knights, being named All-ISL and All-NEPSAC as he caught 22 passes for 381 yards and three touchdowns alongside fellow D1-bound receiver Mike McCaffrey (Holy Cross). Defensive, Champagnie was used in multiple spots, seeing time at both strong and free safety as well as outside and inside linebacker. He totaled 44 tackles, three forced fumbles, a sack, an interception, and seven pass breakups.
"The BB&N football family could not be more proud of Pat," Willey said. "He has been nothing short of outstanding for us and we wish him the best of luck as he becomes a Bryant Bulldog! Bryant is getting an outstanding student athlete to join their program."
Champagnie also had a scattering of interest across the Division 2 schools in the Northeast-10 Conference, most notably Bentley and Stonehill.
