Snapshot: Fan craziness across Massachusetts

By Brendan C. Hall

We had an unusually high volume of tweets tonight showcasing the depth -- and creativity -- of high school fan sections across Massachusetts tonight. Below are some of the best we came across tonight, in what was one of the more emotionally-driven nights of the regular season.

Any interesting fan photos from tonight that we missed, feel free to email me at or tweet me at @BHallESPN.

Cardinal Spellman avenged last month's loss to St. Bernard's with a 71-36 rout of the Bernardians in front of its home crowd. The Cardinals' diminutive but vocal fan base was decked out in digital military patterns as part of their "Camo Night" theme.

Safe to say "Camo night" was a success

Walpole hosted Wellesley in the second "A Shot For Life" game this season. And while it was a loss for the host Rebels, the action was at a fevered pitch. Tommy Quinn, a Walpole High freshman who died from an inoperable brain tumor last October, was honored as part of the "A Shot For Life" event.

@BHallESPN @ASFL_Shoot4Cure I don't know about you, but I'd call this a packed house

@whstherebellion @WalpoleBrigade I want to thank the student body tonight. You were awesome. I have waited 7 yrs for that atmosphere.

Silver Lake probably wins the creativity award tonight:

Boston College High's "Chirp Nation" came out in droves tonight for the Eagles' 106-100 overtime loss to archrival Catholic Memorial:

From the Falmouth Enterprise's Rich Maclone, Falmouth High's section was in a festive mood with Fat Tuesday just a month away:

This one's from last Friday, but it bears repeating here for its originality:
