Durfee's McCoy to step down
By Scott Barboza
Durfee High football head coach Robb McCoy has resigned after one season at the helm of the Hilltoppers. The announcement was first made to The Herald News of Fall River.
Durfee fell to 3-8 after losing, 21-7, to No. 21 New Bedford in the 100th Thanksgiving Day meeting between the two teams. McCoy is 34-28 in his coaching career, which has included stints with Bishop Feehan and as a head coach at Norton High school.
McCoy was suspended for Durfee's Nov. 6 game versus Bishop Feehan -- McCoy's alma mater -- a 23-6 loss.
"Unfortunately, I have lost trust in the administration and continue to confidently disagree with certain decisions that were made during the season, including my suspension which I deem to be wholly without merit," McCoy wrote in his statement."
