Billerica hires Jim Egan as hockey coach

Billerica Memorial announced today that Jim Egan has been named its boys' varsity hockey coach.

Here's more from today's release from athletic director Dave Lezenski:
Billerica Public Schools and Billerica Memorial High School is please to announce that Jim Egan has been appointed the Boys Varsity Hockey Coach.  Mr. Egan currently is a physical education teacher at Marshall Middle School in Billerica.  He has over 11 years of schoolboy hockey coaching experience, most recently he has spent the previous six (6) seasons at Bishop Guertin High School as an assistant coach for the legendary Gary Bishop.

"I am extremely humbled," said Egan.  "It is an honor to lead such a storied program.  BMHS Hockey has a rich tradition and has produced many fine student-athletes."

Director of Athletics Dave Lezenski stated, "Jim has an excellent resume and believes in the teacher/coach model of coaching.  We are very happy with his appointment."

Egan is married to his wife Adra, and has two children, Jack (2) and Avery (1).
